Hudson Waterfront Revitalization Project
The Township of Hudson replaced the dock and installed a floating platform at Pike Lake as part of Renovations to the Community.
This project was supported by the Government of Canada through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program.
Dog By-Law 685
A dog should not be on another person's property without permission. Be a good neighbor and remember that you are responsible for your dog's actions and damages caused by your dog.
Livestock
The Ontario Wildlife Damage Compensation Program ("OWDCP") changed on January 1st, 2017. The OWDCP provides financial assistance to owners whose livestock, poultry and honey bees have been damaged or killed by wildlife. Owners must have a valid premises identification (PID) number for the farm property where the damage or kill occurred and a Farm Business Registration Number (FBRN). Roads Department
Roadside ditches perform primary functions such as collecting water to a sufficient outlet, and assist in winter snow clearing operations by providing snow storage below the elevation of the road surface. Roadside ditches are not a public utility! It is imperative that landowners and farmers do not plow too close to the roadside ditches when plowing their fields as it fills the roadside ditches and disrupts the function of the ditches as it is intended.
It is very important not to stockpile the bales of hay and straw too close to the road or
under the power lines. These stockpiles are safety issues due to the reduced visibility and snow accumulation during the winter months. The Township is asking its residents to call the Roads Superintendent before piling any bales next to the road.
If you need to have any repairs done to a culvert, or are interested in making an
entrance way to your property, please contact the office or the Roads Superintendent before starting any of the work.
Pike Lake Park
There are no lifeguards at Pike Lake. Any recreational activity undertaken at this park is at your own risk. Never leave children alone or unattended at the park. When using the park, please keep the vehicles outside the barriers and do not drive vehicles within the park area.
This year there are new floating docks that will be installed for people to enjoy at the park at Pike Lake. This project was supported by the Government of Canada through the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program. NO OPEN FIRE IS PERMITTED! Anyone using the Pike Lake park area will have to bring their garbage back with them, as there are no longer garbage containers. Please be a good citizen and think of the environment! NEW PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT HAS BEEN INSTALLED AT PIKE LAKE FOR THE KIDS TO ENJOY!
Groups and Services in Our Community
Hudson Lions Club: Regular meetings are held on the first Sunday of each month at the Hudson Hall. New members are always welcome. For more information, please contact Gwen Welch, President.
Milberta Community Women's Group: To improve community living. Meeting every 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. except July and August. Contact Audrey Shelton.
Hudson Young at Heart Seniors: Meeting in the seniors’ room , west entrance, on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday from October to May. Meetings always start with Pot luck lunch at 12:30 p.m., followed by games, guest speakers, entertainment, etc. Everyone is Welcome!
